Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Victorian Review

I am a sucker for a good long-wearing lip color. I hate doing touch ups especially during long work days. The Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm is a concept that I have seen around with other brands such as CoverGirl and Rimmel London. Lip Stains have been coming up on the scene are really an amazing concept, they are basically a liquid waterproof stain that sticks to your lips and doesn’t transfer on coffee cups or on your significant other. The stain basically coat your lips and does leave them looking very dry so you must apply a lip balm on top. The shade I picked up is called Victorian, a deep rosy pink. The shade of the lip stain will be different according to your natural lip color. If you have darker lips this will have a darker shade and might look wearable and for those with lighter lips might find this to be too vibrant. So what did I really think of the Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Victorian Review? Packaging: The 2 step lip stain application comes with a felt top applicator pen on one side and a glossy lip balm on the other. The marker style applicator is easy to use but it does DRY out, I even stored this upside down but still nothing. Even shook it a few times but no luck with product dispensing out evenly. This shade is very wearable. The lip stain does have a somewhat fruity scent and does go on with a slight tingle, once your lip stain sets then there is no budging! Lip Stain Balm  Lip Stain Without the Balm: Lip Stain With the Balm:  My Experience: This was my first time ever using a lip stain, and I gotta be honest when I say this was the most disappointing product from Revlon. The brand that is known for coming out with amazing products such as the Color Burst Lipsticks and Lip Butters. I can’t express how much of a nightmare it was getting this product to work for me. First off if your lips are naturally pigmented enough then this is won’t work at all, I have seen swatches of Victorian on paler skin tones and it looked amazing on them. With my lips the shade barely shows up! If I apply about 5 layers then it will show up as a vibrant pink, but all of that effort? The Swatch was done in about 3 layers which still doesn’t look pigmented enough for me since my lips are naturally dark. This did not live up to the lip stain concept I had thought, I was expecting an all day lip color which failed. This lasted me only 3 hours with the lip balm. The lip balm also didn’t work for me because it was not moisturizing enough to make my lips feel soft, the lip balm lasted only about an hour for me. The application is very patchy (refer to the swatch image), the lip stain does not apply evenly on my lips. It even sinks into fine lines which even the lip balm doesn’t help to moisturize the lips. Even when I shake the lip stain to get some of the product out, it still fails at applying. I even tried taking a tissue and rubbing the lip stain against it to loosen up the product and clean out the gunk but still it didn’t do any good. Overall, I wasn’t happy with this product. The color is very pretty which is what I really liked about this. Here comes the bad… -Applicator is drying -Does not wear longer than 3 hours -Lip balm is not emollient enough -Not enough pigmentation -Sinks into fine lines -Dried out applicator leaves flakes around the lips -Patchy application The good? -Pretty color
